Disneyland, Anaheim, California, is America's theme park, the second most popular behind his younger brother, the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World. Although Disneyland is much smaller than the Magic Kingdom, and many more travel packages and entertainment in the theme park includes excellent versions of classics such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain.
Disneyland is the first of a new version of its popular Star Tours ride June 3, 2011. It will be a racing simulator in 3-D, based on the Star Wars movies, and will probably be the longest line in the park. Arrive early and get a FastPass reservation for the trip, but avoid the crowds in the departure of the entire park while awaiting the return time. Enjoy Space Mountain and Buzz Light year Astro Blasters in Tomorrowland later in the day.
If you have very young children, Fantasyland make your first stop and start with Dumbo to avoid long lines at the end of the day. (Note that Snow White Scary Adventure may be just that for very young children.)
Disneyland is open every day, check the Disney website for hours to buy tickets in advance. If you want to eat lunch or dinner at the Blue Bayou in the Pirates of the Caribbean, call 714-781, dine at the several days of advance reservations.
